Water efficiency for active playing surfaces
Active playing surfaces such as sports fields can be maintained in a playable condition, while still using water efficiently.
Permanent Water Conservation Measures require that playing surfaces be watered only during permitted times as per other water consumers. Under previous water restrictions, active playing surfaces had to comply with a guideline. The guideline requirement was removed in April 2012.
Field operators are still however encouraged to use the guideline and continue water efficient practices to irrigate their sports fields and playing surfaces in a sustainable manner.
