About the Commission
The Queensland Water Commission's mission is to ensure safe, secure and sustainable water supplies for South East Queensland by:
- developing long-term water supply strategies
- managing water demand
- providing advice to government
- reforming the water industry.
The Commission is also responsible for managing the impacts on groundwater levels from coal seam gas water extraction by petroleum tenure holders.
