About the Commission

The Queensland Water Commission (QWC) is an independent, statutory authority responsible for achieving safe, secure and sustainable water supplies in South East Queensland and other designated regions.

The Commission operates under a legislative framework defined in the Water Act 2000 and works with a number of stakeholders including government departments, agencies and water service providers.

The Commission is led by Commissioner Mary Boydell, a CEO and an executive management group.
