Water supply emergency projects
Projects are underway to secure South East Queensland's water supply. In August 2006, the Minister for Water introduced the Water Amendment Regulation (No.6) 2006 to provide a coordinated set of actions to be undertaken by a number of State and Local Government entities. The Regulation provides details on project measures, outcomes, timelines and target water volumes to be achieved.
Service providers give monthly progress reports on their projects to the QWC. Read the latest report for March 2008.

The regional water security program sets out these actions, as well as key projects in the regional water supply strategy interim report. The program was introduced in November 2006 under section 1141 of the Water Act 2000. Key outcomes of the program include:
- developing a System Operating Plan - July 2008 (PDF, 834kB) and
- ensuring key actions and responsibilities are complied with.
